The states of New Jersey and Ohio have gotten a $400 million settlement from the company which provided insurance for state pension and workers compensation programs. Akwesasne Man Charged with Workers Comp Fraud

A New York man has been charged with committing long-term, systemic insurance fraud after receiving five years of workers compensation payments. A worker in New Jersey has been seriously injured following an accident in which the worker had his leg ran over by a steamroller. This accident caused serious injuries to occur as the workers leg was crushed horribly.

New Jersey Concrete Company Defrauds Workers Comp Company

The workers compensation carrier alleged this was a violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and counted as mail fraud; the court ruled against the carrier. New Legislation Extends Emergency Unemployment Compensation

New legislation signed into law by President Obama will extend the amount of time a person can claim unemployment benefits by twenty weeks.
