Asbury Park Required to Pay Woman’s Treatment

A New Jersey state court has confirmed a workers compensation ruling requiring the city to pay for the treatment of a city hall employee who developed a mental condition because of her job. If you or someone you love is having trouble getting the workers compensation payments he or she is owed, the New Jersey workers compensation attorneys of Levinson & Axelrod may be able to help.

The woman developed a long-term mental health condition because of stress at her job, at which she was harassed on a regular basis going back to the late 1990s. The woman was the victim of “a poisonous work environment,” according to the court, which included her former boss constantly berating her and sending around an obscene cartoon about her. The court ruled that the city had to pay for treatment she needed as a result of her condition.
