Mass. Teacher Awarded Workers Comp

The highest court in Massachusetts has ruled in favor of a Peabody teacher who was injured while chaperoning a school ski trip. If you or someone you love has been injured on the job and isn’t receiving the workers compensation payments which he or she deserves, the New Jersey workers compensation lawyers of Levinson & Axelrod may be able to help.

Peabody officials argued that the woman was not entitled to benefits because she had freely volunteered to chaperone the trip. However, the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts ruled that a teacher who serves as a chaperone on a school-sponsored activity is “acting in the course of your duty.”
