A hockey player who was injured playing for a minor league team in Rhode Island is suing for workers compensation in Michigan, according to an article from the Associated Press. The man was signed by the since-defunct Detroit Vipers franchise in 1998. The team sent him to the Providence Bruins in Rhode Island, where he was injured while playing in 2000. Michigan’s Supreme Court will hear testimony about the case, and will rule whether or not the man will receive workers compensation in the state later this month.
