The New York Insurance State Fund successfully forced a former Broome County woman to pay nearly $36,000 in restitution for workers’ compensation payments she collected while claiming to be unable to work. The woman was asked to repay the company after she was found working at a Walgreens in Virginia. According to sources familiar with the story, the woman had been collecting workers’ compensation payments for approximately five years.
