New Study Finds Company Injuries Are Being Hidden

Posted on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009 at 4:04 pm

According to a new study by a Congressional watchdog agency, workplace injuries are going under-reported by company doctors looking to save their businesses money. If you or someone you love has been injured on the job, the New Jersey workers compensation lawyers of Levinson & Axelrod can help you get the money you’re owed.

The report was compiled by the U.S. Government Accountability Office and asserts that safety regulators have been dropping the ball in regards to ensuring the accuracy of injury reports. Doctors and companies are hiding injuries or under-treating them to avoid paying out money. Approximately a third of interviewed company health practitioners said they had been asked by their employers to provide insufficient medical care, and more than a half said they were asked to downplay injuries and illnesses.

If you or someone you love has been injured on the job and you haven’t received the compensation you deserve, contact the New Jersey workers compensation attorneys of Levinson & Axelrod by calling 800-346-5529.
