Woman claims she was let go after workers compensation claim

Posted on Wednesday, December 1st, 2010 at 2:40 pm

A woman in St. Clair County has filed a suit claiming that she was discharged from the Casino Queen after filing a workers’ compensation complaint.

The woman filed the complaint over an incident that allegedly occurred in 2009 when a patron assaulted her, resulting with her receiving a knee injury.

The woman was allegedly helping the people resolve a dispute at the slot machines when the accident occurred. The woman then filed the workers’ compensation claim and when she went to work her next shift, she was suspended and then terminated.
