Infant suffers brain injuries due to father’s abuse

Posted on Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at 10:49 pm

A 30-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of his infant son and is facing additional charges regarding the abuse.

On January 21, 2012 the man claims that he smacked his 4-month-old son in the face two times, resulting in him slipping off of his lap and hitting his head on a nearby table. The affidavit says that the father put off calling for help for over 30 minutes, which caused the infant’s injuries to grow in severity.

The young boy suffered brain hemorrhaging and a fractured skull from the attack. He is currently in a hospital on life support with no current brain activity. Doctors believe that he will not survive.
