Worker killed after falling into empty swimming pool

A 31-year-old contract worker was killed in a construction workplace accident after falling 35 feet into an empty swimming pool.

Officials from the Occupational Safety Health Administration are already on the scene investigating the cause of the fall, but it is thought that parts of a metal roof the man was standing on gave way.

The man and fellow workers were working on the roof of a recreation center that was being renovated when the fall occurred.  Further details into the accident have not bee released.

Worker killed after roof collapse

A 35-year-old B&W employee was killed after a portion of a roof fell and crushed the man in a workplace accident.

The man was working to place columns in a building that would support the roof. As the workers built this a 20-by-20 section of the roof collapsed onto the man and he was killed instantly.

Other employees were also injured in the accident, chunks of concrete fell on one man as he was trapped in the collapsed building for nearly two hours. Another employee was treated for head injury but later released.
